In my previous open figure drawing session I talked about going back to the basics by using only pencil and paper. This week I continued on with the basics, its so much fun! I love pencil because if it is a short pose I can simply do a line drawing with a wide range of easily adjustable lines. If its longer I can quickly fill in blocks of value that are also easily adjustable with an eraser. The only down side is the lack of value range, but I find the malleability of the media to be nicer than charcoal for studies. Pencil and Paper is my artistic staple for the time being.
These drawings were done during one of the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania’s open model nights. Check out drawings from the previous session. The Art Alliance is in Lemont, PA only several miles from State College. Check out their seasonal adult art class listings here.
